These natural cut and polished stone dials are each unique to themselves. No two are identical, as nature will intend. Nature, polished and encapsulated in a mini machine designed for use and submersion in the natural world. The Tsuba is a concept, imagined from a Tsuba itself, a hand guard of a Samurai’s Katana. @habring2 🇦🇹 Jorge, erstwhile tribute to a pioneer of modern Independent Watchmakers, Dr.George Daniels. Habring2 have been working with Jochen Benzinger with Benzinger Watches “GAP 1” & “GAP 2” projects. Now, Habring2 take the lead in the development of another “GAP” (Germany-Austria-Project) to do a third partnership collaboration based on Oskar. Is Jorge, Oskar? At the foundation, yes, however Jorge is heavily modified from Oskar. The design is pushing boundaries of the calibre as it has been. To present the moonphase on this symmetrical dial layout significant modifications needed to be made. You may notice the reposition of the operating crown? The moonphase itself is a larger display, with a larger corresponding moon disc (featuring our own Mrs.&Mr. Moonface who trade months 🌝 sharing is caring). The cannon is offset and a unique handset are developed and heated to a bronze finish. The progression from our Doppel Perpetual, which was slightly larger and a bit more complicated. Chrono Felix Perpetual Calendar is a handwound, monopusher chronograph with perpetual calendar module. The first watches were a brilliant salmon/copper dial. More recently we added the choice of a black dial. Now, a new aesthetic addition of this lovely new blue dial. @habring2 🇦🇹 Habring² also needs no introduction to passionate watch enthusiasts. Richard and Maria Habring’s small company caused a stir when it decided to build its own movements years ago. And now, one of these in-house movements is breathing life into Jorge. ‘Jorge’s hand-wound movement is largely identical to that of our Oskar model. However, we have modified some details,’ explains Richard Habring. “The moon phase of the Jorge model is slightly larger than that of Oskar. An additional corrector at 9 o’clock is used for correction, while the date corrector is located at 3 o’clock. Richard and I have known Jochen Benzinger for years through a series of customer projects,’ says Maria Habring ; the experience and expertise of Jochen Benzinger and Habring². Benzinger created the face of the new timepiece. Benzinger needs no introduction to watch connoisseurs.He works with machines that are sometimes over a hundred years old. He manufactures many components and decorations by hand. Habring² is one of the few who engraves Benzinger’s name on the dial as an equal. Benzinger dials are hard to beat, ‘which is why we opted for small series of handmade steel hands, which we oxidise ourselves over an open flame to give them a reddish-brown colour and fit with hand tubes,’ says Richard Habring, describing another aesthetic detail of Jorge. When designing the dial, Jochen Benzinger was unable to conceal the significant influence that George Daniels had on his work. British watchmaker Daniels (1926 to 2011) is considered one of the most important watchmakers of the 20th century. His watches are known for their ornate decorations, especially guilloché movements and dials. He combined technical innovations – such as the invention of the co-axial escapement – with classic craftsmanship. It therefore comes as no surprise that George Daniels is not only a great role model for everyone, but that the new Jorge model also has the honour of paying tribute to the late master.
